Now Far Cry heads to Africa

Ubisoft’s FPS ditches the jungle and heads off to the plains of Africa

Africa very much seems to be the flavour of the month at the moment – first it was Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 making the trip south of Equator, and now it seems Ubisoft is taking its popular FPS franchise in the same direction.

CVG reports that as well as ditching leading character Jack Carver, Far Cry 2 will also ditch the series’ trademark jungle locale in favour of the African savannah. The game, however, will retain the original’s sense of scale and in-game freedom.

And the publisher is also touting a brand new advanced AI system that will the enemies, as well as the game’s wildlife, even more believable than before.
