Wedbush Morgan analyst forecasts drop will come with release of GTA
Top industry analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that Sony will drop the Price of PS3 at the start of next year – as Metal Gear Solid 4 and GTA IV are released.
In a note to investors on Tuesday, Pachter said:
“We do expect Sony to be in a position to cut the price of the PS3 in early 2008, when blockbuster games Grand Theft Auto IV and PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 will launch.”
GTA IV is due for release in the second quarter of 2008, following Take Two’s announcement that the title would be delayed until next year.
Sony’s Metal Gear Solid 4 is also expected to be released in 2008, and will be previewed at the Leipzig Game Convention this month.
