In2Games to unveil motion-sensing peripherals for PS2 games at the Leipzig Gaming Convention
The first six titles will be available at retail in time for Christmas for £29.99.
The games – which include Realplay Tennis, Realplay Pool, Realplay Golf, Realplay Racing, Realplay Bowling and Realplay Puzzlesphere – are made for use with wireless controllers that emulate tennis rackets, pool cues, golf clubs and steering wheels, amongst others.
The motion-sensing technology used in the peripherals is currently still in development, having recently attracted £7.6 million in venture capital funding.
In2Games will be hoping to tap into the huge popularity of existing wireless gaming controllers such as that of Nintendo’s Wii.
“The Realplay range of games is aimed squarely at those PS2 owners who want to play wireless motion-sensing games without needing to splash out on a new console,” said Elliott Myers, CEO of In2Games.
“Each peripheral is as accurate as any video gaming technology out there at the moment, but on an entirely new format. The games are fun, challenging and highly addictive, and the wireless peripherals offer the best way of controlling games on what will be this Christmas’ most popular mainstream console.”

long live ps2
if people start making multi-platform games between wii and ps2 the ps2 could stay strong for another 3-5 years - i *heart* ps2
Re: long live ps2
Will this work with PS3 too?
ORIGINAL CONTENT
This sure is new and exciting, it's not like Sony are trying to rip off the Wii at all.
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
Didn't they have this 3 years (or so) ago with GameTrak?
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
I think it's just like ps3's controller
because air mouse like + motion-sensing was copyright by nintendo and that make wiimote
only air mouse like g-con3 - or - motion-sensing in ps3 controller is allow to other company
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
Is this a joke? An optional controller for a system that only controls 6 games? Do i smell Powerglove? Or GunCon? Couldn't you do this with the existing sixaxis, since it's motion controlled? Anyone else baffleD?
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
i lol'd
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
Why do they always compare any peripheral which uses motion sensing to the Wiimote? Nintendo didn't invent this technology you morons.
Re: ORIGINAL CONTENT
INNOVASHION
Now by sony
ps3 controller
the ps3 already has a motion-sensitive controller-- like that helped it. The ps2 just has a way better library of $20 mega-hit titles and costs $129, that's why it's selling better.
Re: ps3 controller
well that was fast nice job sony can't wait to see your yoga board in 6 months. lol

Um excuse me, but if you bought all 6 of these things it would cost more than a Wii and be less entertaining??
That comment is a definite stab at the Wii, but I think these things will are more expensive if you want the whole range.
One off items make it more worth it.
Re: ps3 controller
First sentence in the article:
"In2Games to unveil motion-sensing peripherals for PS2 game."
Sony did not make this. In2Games did--whoever they are.

Unless they are better than those found in Wii Sports / Play. They weren't *that* good games. More of a tech demo sort.
Really?????
Is it April 1st? I mean c'mon......really??????
Re: Really?????
It's an okay idea, in my opinion, but the pricetag really is a turnoff. 30£ for 1 game? That is fricking expensive, unless the game really has great motion sensing technology, good gameplay and better graphics than the wii sports pack..
Re: Really?????
Wow...I think Sony is scared and confused as hell right now. Trying to rip off Nintendo with both motion sensing and now this, and (poorly) creating an online service (not at all) similar to Microsoft's.
Re: Really?????
You people are idiots... it's not Sony doing this, it's an independant publisher called In2Games.
The Wii sports games are very limited, and from what I've read about these Real Play games, they're full-scale titles aimed at the budget/casual market. If you can get a Pool game with different modes and 40 hours + of competitions, that's already far better than Wii Sports' very limited 'pool 'game'.

"Unless they are better than those found in Wii Sports / Play. They weren't *that* good games. More of a tech demo sort."
The difference is that you don't have 6 gadchets to 6 games. You have one controler to serveral games, thus making it less expensive. You don't use the Wiimote just to play Wii Sports.
Re: Really?????
But are you likely to be interested in all of those games? No, of course not. You may just want a Pool game - so you're getting a Pool game and Cue for £30.
Re: Really?????
Wii Sports pool game was very limited
So limited that it didn't have one
