LucasArts confirms that The Force Unleashed is heading to Wii, with Wii Remote-based lightsaber dueling in the offing
It had already been confirmed for Xbox 360 and PS3, and now LucasArts’ next-gen Star Wars epic The Force Unleashed is heading to Wii – with platform-specific Wii Remote lightsaber battles as part of the bargain.
“The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life,” LucasArts president Jim Ward stated.
“We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force.”
The Wii incarnation, along with the current-gen PS2 and PSP versions, is set to be handled by Krome Studios, the folk behind popular kids platformer Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.

“Ty the Tasmanian Tiger”

"popular kids platformer Ty the Tasmanian Tiger" – I love when MCV injects a little humour into its news.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was a character so obscure and instantly forgettable that N64 Magazine had a challenge in their review: it was to look at a picture of him, close the magazine and try to remember a single characteristic of his appearance. It was impossible.
I expect LucasArts will give up on mapping realistic controls to the Wiimote and do a Harry Potter: swinging the lightsaber will be achieved by waggling the nunchuk and clicking buttons instead.
“This could be good”

If they get this right, then every Star Wars fan will buy this game and a Wii. I would.
The controller even has a speaker in it, so you could have the sounds coming out of it.
However, I do agree with you that the controls may be made more standard (Red Steel also does a similar thing by the motions doing specific moves than the actual actions) just so they can get the game out there.
