New PS3 starter pack unveiled
Why can't indies have a good deal like this rather than getting screwed all the time. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo need to do more for indies instead of ripping them off with stupid trade prices.
Re: New PS3 starter pack unveiled
Errrrr, Virgin Megastore have been running the same bundle for over two months now, PS3, extra controller & a choice of three from a choice of six games.
Re: New PS3 starter pack unveiled
Yep Virgin have been running the same sort of offer for a while, only difference is that you dont get Heavenly sword. You do however get two pads and 3 games.

Re Indies. Do you really think Indies could take the volume and get the high street penertration. The problem is indies are just that. Different ideas, cash situations and store positions. Sony made 1 call 1 meeting and 1 agreement and done deal.
Wait til Tesco offer cash up front exclusive deal then we will all be in trouble.
Re: New PS3 starter pack unveiled
Scouse what you dont relise is that indies pay the most for games and have the worst allocation of new releases. ok hmv have buying power. so what. Publishers and distributors make rubbish mark-up on selling to nationals so they charge indies more to make up for this. Is this fair?. On most games mark-up for an indie can be as low as £1, especially on EA, Ubisoft games.
Re: New PS3 starter pack unveiled
Your right Indie Power. Spot on. But do you think the Indie shops could take the wieght on thier should now. The market has grown to a point, I dont know this for sure but lets say you were in charge at HMV a deal like this presents its self then you ask your bank to hold the credit and you pile in you could never get every Indie to do that. Look at the G30 they couldnt agree anything they are Inderpendent business who wanted different deals. Which was Sad as united they stand they could make a massive impact. Just look at the NISA buying group or Euronics a little expensive but they cope together. G30 was a money making thing so was the Steve Obrien idea. Desigante somebody to do the buying for new releases all chip in for a warehouse and get in your cars and pick up the stock to keep the distribution down or pay for delivery. Now *** me that wasnt hard. But lets fac it not even Chips buys 20 per shop of any title. So even if you take all the multi store fronts lets say 350 outlets that only 3500 units per AAA title when HMV dont have that many shops and take that many. If indies really cared dont you think they would have done something already. They only care about there own business and when they complain Action Replay isnt standing up for Insane Games or Games Cabin he shouting that he didnt get enough allocation. Indies hold thier own destiny just like Choices, MVC and all the others who fell by the wayside.
