Logo unveiled as new-look Virgin Megastores thinks of Christmas

Zavvi, the new retailer to emerge following the buyout of Virgin Megastores, has unveiled its new logo – one that it says reflects its “dedication to being a truly multi-channel, independent entertainment retailer”.

Managing director Simon Douglas stated: “We wanted something that was clear and simple. Zavvi will be all about making life easy for consumers, giving them a choice on both the High Street and online, so our logo had to reflect that.”

Zavvi’s marketing and e-commerce director Steve Kincaid added: “Zavvi will have a completely independent ethos that will be reflected in everything it does from the product it sells to in-store events to above the line advertising.

“However, its independent spirit will not be at the expense of its mainstream appeal and the management team intend to continue to make the shopping experience attractive to all consumers by providing a product range with something for everyone both on line and on the High Street.”

Why is everyone getting so excited about a name change & logo? Walk into a store and decide if you like it or not. Think about it.

I couldnt be more excited about the change. We will be the largest independent entertainment retailer around. So what about it being green, its fresh and if the prises stay low and the deals keep coming people are going to want to buy. Simple as.

Independant? Hardly, just another chain store desperate to look cool and fresh...want good customer satisfaction, seek out the self owned record stores in the back streets of every major city. places where true record lovers buy their shizzle and then weep while ****ty corps intrested only in dosh continue to push them out of buissnes. Virgin hasn't been a record store for years but a cattle market for commercial music and the masses that buy it.

Please explain. Independant ? Can't get good credit rating to supply direct. They will go through EUK (a part of Woolies)- who buy for Asda and Woolies etc. they can't buy from us -cos it would have to be agreed with EUK. the market is closing they'll only be the big stores left and Zavvi aint one of them.

Even with my tribe card, it's cheaper to shop in supermarkets or sometimes HMV for music and dvds. That, alongside the digital music era spells the end of zavvi. Anyone know what the new uniform will be?

On the 27th December 2007 I ordered from Virgin Stores over the internet, a Playstation game which was meant to be in stock. I received an email saying that the product was on back- order and could take anything up to 8 weeks for delivery. I have received a product but not the product I ordered. I have sent 3 emails, telephoned the Head Office 2twice and left answerphone messages and no-one has got back to me. They have a message on the phone system they do not have the resources to man the telephone lines and that the email and internet customers have priority. What a load of rubbish. My 8 year old son is still waiting for his christmas present and I am getting no replies to my emails. What can I do? I know I will not reccomend Zavvi to anybody I know, if anything I will be telling them to avoid the company at all costs.

They should save the money on rebranding and fancy signs and send it on training their customer services staff, I think the company would benefit more from this. My dealings with the company have been very disappointing. As sayings go 'You can't flog a dead horse'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited a couple of stores in Liverpool and Manchester and have to say I'm impressed......At HMV, WHS, Game and GS, got the usual "schoolboy" apathy, whereas at Zavvi, the people I spoke to were helpful and friendly. I must have been the hundredth Wii explorer, but they gave me all the info I needed and then went on to show me some new games that I could play. I ordered my Wii online from Zavvi and look forward to receiving good service. Keep up the good work!

He who will be named! Jake

Come on guys all it is is a name change and thats about it no one had complaints about Virgin because they all like Richard Branson well he has faith in the new guy in charge so give it a chance! and to all of thoughs saying the customer service is bad i put up with customers shouting taking there fury of the day out on me, but i still make an effort and treat each and every customer the best i can, but just think if you had customers being horrid to you all day treating you like you where lower then them you cant say you wouldn't get a little run down sometimes? It just seems most of these guys have gone in hoping to find faults in the shop if only you took a different approach i'm sure you'd see the difference!

come on lets make it happen!!!!!

Zavvi have not got a clue. I ordered some DVDs and realised that i could get them cheaper elsewhere. Read the terms and conditions and cancelled the order in line with the T&Cs. received emails saying i could not cancel as they had been dispached. Their T&Cs state that you can cancel if you have not received an email to say they have been dispached. Sent letter to Head office and to Richard Branson at the Registered address o and a bill for £20 for wasting my time.
