Games on demand service to receive content from GamesRadar.com and CVG.co.uk
Games Domain International, the company behind games on demand service AWOMO, has teamed up with Future in a deal that will integrate the publisher’s online content into the service.
The agreement will see content from GamesRadar.com appear in AWOMO’s virtual 3D world, whilst content from CVG.co.uk will be incorporated into AWOMO’s desktop client. The deal will also see Future offering games downloads from CVG.
“I am pleased to be able to announce a long term partnership with Future that has significant strategic benefits for both companies,” GDI CEO Roger Walkden stated.
“AWOMO gains a wide variety of world-class videogame-related editorial to serve to its subscribers, and we look forward to welcoming Future readers to our gaming paradise.”
James Ashton-Tyler, group publisher of Future’s games digital portfolio, added: “As part of Future’s commitment to being at the forefront of games media, we are delighted to be working GDI. This new partnership continues the development and evolution of our online offerings.”
As part of the deal, a special offer has been established that will allow CVG and GamesRadar users to participate in the AWOMO beta test and possibly win free access for life.

This had better be good
So, some goon 'invents' the idea of using compression to speed up downloads a bit. Gets beardy Branson to stump up some money. They make a load of announcements - including, hilariously, that they'll be floating their non-existant company for £1bn or something shortly. And making a clone of PS3 Home, to boot.
