Lost Planet heading to PS3

Xbox 360 and PC hit heading to Sony’s next-gen console in early 2008

After enjoying great success earlier this year when it was released on Xbox 360 and subsequently PC, Capcom’s snow-themed third person action title Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will be released on PS3 some time early next year.

Sony blog Three Speech says that the game will pack 16 player online gameplay and will include all of the additional content that has been released for the game since its release.

This is very revealing.
Capcom have gone on record saying that they made a profit in the USA and the UK for Lost Planet & Dead Rising on the Xbox 360, but sales are non-existent in mainland Europe, Japan, and the rest of the world. This is the reason that Capcom are bringing some of their newest franchises to the Playstation platform. The 360 is losing many of its 'exclusives.'

Yes, it is very revealing.
The answer why its a year later and just a port is that with the much smaller PS3 userbase, sales will be much less as well, meaning none or very small profits.

Let me explain 'exclusives' there is usually a 6month agreement in regards to 'exclusives'

Xbox 360 is not losing any, infact all the PS3 seems to be getting is old 360 games.

Mass Effect, Too Human, Lost Odessy, Blue Dragon, Ninja Gaiden 2

These are just some of the 3rd party exclusives which are 360 ONLY and are staying that way - also note that 3 games mentioned are Japanese ones.
