Industry duo rise above the rest to capture Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 crown
Celebrating today’s release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and PC, Sega Europe duo Dwayne Buck and Aaron Francis have proved that they are the best PES players in the industry by conquering all the claim the first ever PES Industry Cup, in association with MCV and sponsored by Play.com and Cobra Beer.
The pair defeated Codemasters’ charming development duo James Firth and Craig Duncan in a tense final in the early hours of this morning.
The event took place in Holborn’s Sway bar last night, and saw 32 two-man teams battle it out in a fierce competition. In conjunction with the Industry Cup, Dave Shaw of Imagine’s X360 magazine was victorious in the adjoining Media Cup.
Match of the Day regular and Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson teamed up with ITV rival pundit Jon Champion, and bizarrely Normski, to commentate on the various celebrity clashes that took place throughout the night, which included The Streets’ Leo Ihenacho taking on Chelsea forward Carlton Cole.
