Spore confirmed for Wii

, The Sims creator Will Wright has confirmed that his hugely anticipated ‘life, the universe and everything’ sim Spore is in development for the Nintendo Wii.

Wright has recently stated that in his opinion the Wii is the only genuine next-gen games system, criticising the rival PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles on the basis that they are merely extensions of their predecessors.

Lasyt week the famed development guru won the coveted Fellowship GAVTA at the recent games-based ceremony.

Spore is expected to be released on PC in Q2 2008, though no release date on the Wii version has yet been given.
