Anti-tampering measures outflanked as new PS3 title faces fraud crisis
It has emerged that the anti-cheating measures Sony implemented for the recently released Eye of Judgement on PS3 can be easily bypassed with the use of a simple colour printer.
Eye of Judgement is a card game that comes bundled with the new PS3 EyeToy, the PlayStation Eye. The game involves users laying down cards on a special board – these cards are then read by the camera and translated into animated actions on the screen.
Sony had previously stated that it was using special ink to prevent players copying the cards, and therefore gaining an unfair advantage. However, games blog Kotaku was able to dupe the system by simply reproducing the cards with a normal colour printer and a PC.
Seeing booster packs are currently available for between £2.49 and £9.99, the possibility of self-made cards threatens any possible future revenue stream.

Why?
I thought the point of these card games is to collect cards yes? So why would anyone print ****py fake ones? The Eye part of it is just an adition to the card collecting, not the main game.
At the end of the day if people do it so what? They have to buy the game and PlayStation Eye and if people know they can fake the cards it might actually sell more units.
Re: Why?
or end up with a new copy protection system that will render season 1 cards useless, or with the mere disappearance of additionnal seasons whatsoever, if not the online mode, or the entire game... If someone amidst the publishers doesn't find some sort of hard/software upgrade patch to enhance card scan...
Re: Why?
"you're only cheating yourself" as the famed saying goes.
Pointless... £1.99 - £2.49 for 8 booster cards isn't that expensive and you can get a full 30 card themed deck for £6.99 so why bother copying?
Some people really need to get a life!
