Highly anticipated title slips to Q2 2008
Konami’s forthcoming stealth shooter Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, due to be released at the end of this year, will now arrive in Q2 next year at the earliest, reported Next Generation.
“Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide,” stated the company. “Further information regarding the release date will be announced as soon as possible.”

That means Xmas 08 for EMEA.
No mention of the delay being so that it's a world-wide release in all territories at the same time, so that means we will not see it in UK/Euroland until Xmas 2008.

what a shame another kick in the balls for PS3 owners,looks like we will see Metal Gear Solid 4 next Xmas,hopefully konami wil do the right thing and make Metal Gear Solid 4 multi format

This has been common knowledge for ages, most of the trailers released even say worldwide launch early 08.

the reason for this delay is that they are wanting more monkeys in the game, and also need extra time to ensure the monkey AI is perfect lol

the 'next year' here is refering to next financial year I believe. As in its slipped from a feb/march release until after april. Maybe. Who knows.

its obvious...they're waiting for more people to own ps3 consoles...so it becomes the first true killer app which gets the headlines on ps3...it they released it in say December, it wouldn't sell half as much as it would next year!
