Bethesda’s latest URL purchase adds further weight to rumours of an online version of popular RPG series

Though it remains the thing of myth and legend for the time being, Bethesda’s purchase of domain name elderscrollsonline.com has added further weight to the ongoing rumours that the developer is working on an online instalment to its successful RPG franchise.

Last month Bethesda’s owning company ZeniMax confirmed that a large part of a recent $300 million investment will be spent on MMO development.

However, Bethesda’s Peter Hines has insisted to GameSpot that the URL purchase is nothing more than a measure to prevent third parties laying claim to Bethesda-related properties.

Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls title I really got into.
I'll be disappointed if theres no offline title as I'm no fan of MMO.
