
Namco Bandai’s Ace Combat 6 brings about an unlikely reversal of fortunes for Microsoft’s machine in the Far East
Microsoft is celebrating a rare moment of success in Japan where the latest data from Media Create shows that for the week ending November 4th Xbox 360 hardware outsold rival PS3, albeit by just over 200 units, Next Gen reports.
360 sold 17,673 in the period, massively up on the 3,718 units sold in the week before. In comparison, PS3 shifted 17,434 machines. The release of Namco Bandai’s Xbox 360 exclusive Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, which sold just under 80,000 units.
It’s the handhelds that rule the market overall, however, with DS selling 78,599 units and the PSP 59,714.
