Mass Effect banned in Singapore

BioWare’s epic RPG causes upset thanks to lesbian alien coupling

Whilst BioWare’s upcoming RPG Mass Effect is lining up to be one of the last great releases of the year when it arrives in Europe next Friday, it has emerged that the game will not be seeing the light of day in Singapore.

The country’s Media Development Authority took great offence to a scene in Microsoft’s title that depicts a lesbian encounter between a human and blue-headed alien. It’s not the first time the Authority has banned a game in the territory – God of War 2 and The Darkness were both denied a release.

Singapore newspaper The Straits Times claims that the decision has infuriated the worldwide gaming community.
