The Halcyon Company also boasts rights to Philip K. Dick’s sci-fi novels
The Halcyon Company, an LA based firm that owns the gaming rights to the lucrative Terminator franchise, has announced that it has opened a new development studio and is already at work on a new game based on the brand.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that the firm opted to open its own games division rather than farm out the work in order to maintain creative control of the project. Halcyon also owns the first-look rights to make games based on science fiction writer Philip K. Dick’s novels.
The as-of-yet unnamed Terminator game is expected to become self-aware on PC and consoles in summer 2009.
