Sony launches PC-based PSP store

PC users able to download content in PS3-like store and transfer to their handhelds

A new version of the PlayStation Store has gone online, allowing PSP owners to access and download content for the handhelds over the internet.

The site adopts the same basic design as the PS3 version of Sony’s Store, and allows gamers to purchase games that are already available on UMD, as well as PSOne titles and some original full-game content. There is also a selection of demos, videos, trailers and themes to download. Extra content will be added every week.

Highlights from the launch offering include brand new title Beats, UMD titles B-Boy and Go! Sudoku, demos of LocoRoco and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, PSOne games Syphon Filter 3 and Cool Borders and trailers for the likes of Gangs of London, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Killzone Liberation.

Head here to check out the UK version of the site.

The needs to work on a Mac as well. Even the PS3 should be able to download content from its browser to a USB connected PS3.

Why make it only work only on Sony's rivals Micro$oft's computers?!...
