Eidos confirms Deus Ex 3

Free-thinking FPS sequel to be first title from publisher’s newly-opened Montreal studio

Eidos has proudly opened that doors to its brand new Montreal studio, and confirmed that the outfit’s first title will be a third instalment to the cult Deus Ex franchise.

Eidos’ managing director Stéphane D’Astous said of the title: "This game was very highly rated at its release in 2000, and we have this great huge mandate to do the third one, and everybody is very excited.”

And of the new studio, D’Astous added: “The key to our success will be through talented and passionate people. A tremendous amount of work has gone into the opening of this studio.”

He also stated that the current staff count of 75 is expected to grow to 350 in time, with 100 news faces expected to join in both 2008 and 2009.

Hopefully they will expand on what made the first game great, rather than strip it like they did for invisible war.

the first one is one of the best games ever despite the now-dated graphics

Me and many others that played number 2 on the Xbox thought it was superb! Absolutly amazing RPG in many areas.

Hopefully the third one builds on number 2 and is very big in scale with lots of AI etc.

Most Die Hard PC gamers were disappointed by Invisible War, we thought it was "simplified" for the console market. In the first one you bought skills(you were a horrible shot in the beginning of the game, and hacking/picking locks ate up tools like mad), had more upgrade options for the weapons, individual ammo, and had an old school size-based inventory system....
