Could yet another cherished Sega Saturn franchise be lining up for a next-gen return?
With the release of Sega’s Nights Journey into Dreams on Wii pencilled in for early next year, rumours abound that another classic Saturn franchise could be making its way to next-gen consoles in the near future.
Speaking to Future games site Games Radar, Sonic Team USA boss Takashi Iizuka said of a possible sequel to Burning Rangers: "It's not my title, so I can't comment. But I hear there is a lot of demand for a sequel, to bring out Burning Rangers on Wii so, we'll see."
Burning Rangers was released on Sega Saturn in 1998, and was one of the last triple-A titles to hit Sega’s powerful but commercially questionable 32bit games console. The game saw futuristic firefighters attending a range of emergency situations, mainly involving combustion.
