Cooking Mama breaks one million barrier

505 Games’ quirky DS and Wii title reaches new sales landmark in Europe

Indie publisher 505 Games can boast a substantial feather in its increasingly valuable hat today following the confirmation that the ever-popular DS and Wii cook-em-up Cooking Mama has now surpassed the one million sales barrier in Europe.

Proving that the right product can see even smaller publishers match the performance of their bigger rivals, Cooking Mama has hit the milestone having been on the market for just over a year.

“These fantastic results vindicate the hard work and dedication from everyone at 505 that has gone into making this our most successful franchise to date,” 505 Games’ MD Ian Howe stated.

“We’ve set ourselves a lofty target, but now we’re all keen to see how quickly we can get Cooking Mama 2 to one million.”

And fans of the series should prepare for more baking and frying action next year when Cooking Mama 2 arrives on DS and Wii in early 2008.

A very well earned Pat on the back and well done. :) I like to see small publishers have success.
