Silent Hill 5 producer says that Japanese game development is in trouble because of Western tech prowess
Akira Yamaoka, the producer of Konami’s Silent Hill 5, has stated that he believes the future of Japanese games development is in trouble thanks to the advances made by developers in the West.
Speaking to Game Developer magazine, and reported by QJ.net, Yamaoka stated: "Western development techniques are very advanced. There are of course advantages and disadvantages, but overall, I'm really impressed with the American staff and their technology.
"Their graphical and technical ability is amazing. There's a huge leap, actually. I look at what American developers are doing and I think, wow, Japan is in trouble."
