Sony handheld now able to play retro titles on the move via Remote Play
Though it was the Blu-Ray enhancements that caught the headlines following Sony's recent firmware updates for its two leading games consoles, a surprise inclusion that wasn't talked up before is the new ability for PSP to play PSOne titles on the move.
Not only does the update allow PSOne titles purchased on the PlayStation Store to be played anywhere, it also allows PSP to stream games from a PSOne disc that are being played on a PS3 via the Remote Play function – providing both machines have access to a wi-fi internet connection.
The only other obstacle gamers will have to tackle is the PSP's lack of four shoulder buttons - though customising in-game controls should see that settled with the vast majority of titles.

The feature to allow you to play PSOne games on your PSP away from home is all well and good, but you need a lot to be in place for it to work:
* 60Gb PS3 (If you want to play games from your 'real' collection)
* It to be on and connected to a wireless router that also has to be on (in this era of 'Global Warming' and 'Keep everything turned off')
* To have access to a WiFi hotspot (and not all are free)
* Don't play games that require disc changed (Such as the FF series)
To be honest, this would not be a feature that many (if any) would really use, although, hats off to them, it's a good idea in theory.

40GB machines can play PSOne games - just PS2 games they can't run.
