Duke Nukem Forever planned for multi-format release

3D Realms plans to release the long awaited 2K Games published shooter on multiple platforms

Developer 3D Realms has told MCV that it is planning on a multi-format release for the highly anticipated shooter Duke Nukem Forever, which has been in development for around ten years.

The title, which is currently without a firm release date, was previously thought to be a PC exclusive, however 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller told us: “We plan to have a multi-platform release if possible. We're not nailing down a date yet, but we're excited about the game's progress.”

Duke Nukem Forever’s first trailer in around six years is due to be released today at 6pm GMT, according to CVG. 3D Realm’s George Broussard said: “It's not a full blown trailer like the 2001 trailer (but something like that is coming). I tried to be clear about that in the message board post, so just bear in mind that it's a teaser.”

Seeing this game come closer and closer to a release is like seeing your favorite movie series end. It was absolutely great (and agonizing in this sense) while it was going, and You just can't believe that it's almost actually over. Well this is definitely the game I HAVE TO Get. They've had about 10 years to develop it, I hope we see the sweet time they took into making this game in th gameplay

I can't wait till this comes out *joke*. It SHOULD be one of the biggest releases of the year and maybe even set a new benchmark in the FPS genre for the amount of development put into it. Don't hold your breath though. I think they will choke personally. Let's wait and see. Fingers crossed it hasn't been whole decade wasted!

I reckon, they should wait another few years to not release anything. Then they cannot release an anniversary edition, I would love to not buy it.

Forever = Development time.

Count me in Williams! I'm not going to buy it twice-one copy not to play,and another not to keep in mint condition for my offspring-which I won't have.

I have never really played a Duke Nukem game but anyway, since it has been in development for a long time I wonder if it will be short or long, Prey was a very good game but short but pretty good nonetheless.

I hope this game doesnt have the ****py DOOM engine as those visuals on PREY werent exactly high end.
