Subscription fees on the way for PSN?

Sony questionnaire hints at possible unlimited download access for monthly fee

A questionnaire sent out to Asian users of Sony’s PC-based PlayStation Store has hinted that the firm is possibly considering allowing gamers to download an unlimited number of items from PSN if they agree to pay a monthly subscription charge, CVG reports.

The questionnaire also lists a number of existing PSP titles, such as LocoRoco and Tekken, and asks respondents if they would be interested in downloading them from the network.

Current offerings on the PSP version of PSN include a number of download-only PSP titles, some games that were previously released on UMD and a selection of compatible PSOne titles.

A few words of advice to Sony: think hard about getting some content on PSN before trying to fleece your customers through subscription fees.

I'd suggest to Sony to think long and hard about making people subscribe.

Your only advantage over the might of Xbox Live at the moment is the fact you're free.
