Two big name studios officially join publishing giant
Electronic Arts has confirmed the acquisition of BioWare and Pandemic holding company VG Holdings for $860m.

Ugh...
I really hope EA don't get too much of a say in development/distribution. Mass Effect looked like it was going to produce a cracking trilogy exclusive to the 360, if EA gets it's way it will be yearly updates instead of when they are ready and ports to all 3 consoles. I can't remember the last EA owned exclusive title that wasn't on a handheld.
Re: Ugh...
Being EA I imagine they will make any exclusive multi format or they woudn't have bothered aquiring them. They will probably get ports of Mass Effect into prodicution as soon as possible to recoop some cash as quickly as possible
Re: Ugh...
This worries me as Jade Empire, Destroy all Humans and Full Spectrum Warrior were hardly chart smashers and it makes you wonder how many games EA will see through before they fire half the team 'to save costs' and get whoever's left to knock out any old s**t using the brands as the selling wagon.
Nice one EA, anyone else in the industry you'd like add to your 'creativity eliminator' program?
Jade Empire was amazing
Bioware games have always been top class games.
Re: Jade Empire was amazing
I swear to God if EA ruin any BioWare Game/ franchises I'll most likely end up in prison for mass murder. BioWare are my favorite developer and I won't see EA bleed their games to death!
