Gears of War 2 info imminent?

GamePro cover leads some to speculate about an unveiling at the Game Developers Conference

The latest issue of US games mag GamePro has got Xbox 360 fans excited thanks to its double mention of the as-of-yet unannounced Gears of War 2 on its cover.

No more details are known as of yet, though the news had reignited previous talk that Epic’s much-wanted sequel could see its first public unveiling at the Game Developers Conference at San Francisco later this month.

These rumours have been backed up by the claims that Epic has booked a rather large stand right next to Microsoft’s.

Upon its release in November 2006, Gears of War became an instant critical and commercial success, selling over three million copies in less than three months on sale.

Interestingly, the game was never released in Germany after it was denied a rating.

I can feel the PS3 gaining momentum. It's in the air. I'm sure Microsoft is lining up as many big announcements as it can to try and stifle Sony's resurgence. And GoW2 - dont get much bigger that that.

Heh, I would laugh if they just announced it as an 'Early' April fools.

And a 3...Because it was Microsoft who said that Gears of war will be a trilogy but Epic were a bit upset that Microsoft let it out too early as they wanted a similar feel like with the HALO releases which have been a bit dissapointing as imo HALO 1 was the best...

Anyways hope gears of war 2 is better and bigger than the first one.

just more of the same, maybe some new weapons, and I would be happy. I would just like them to actually provide a decent story this time.

Considering how much they spoke about the story in the previews, there was very little explaination in the game. Unless you leave your game running at the main menu for 5 minutes, then you actually get some kind of backstory. the normal intro is so basic.

of course this game is gonna be great, if gears 1 blows halo3 out of the water then its inevitable that gears 2 is gonna be just as good, rumours say new weapons, new maps and new characters and new game play, gears of war will end up being the flagship for xbox360 which it probably would be if not for all the money and hype spent on that dissapointing halo3!
