Rumours claim zombie sequel is not 360 exclusive, and not being developed by Capcom
It was one of the first triple-A titles on Xbox 360 upon its release in late 2006, and now rumours of a sequel to Dead Rising have emerged – along with some speculation concerning a change of development duties.
The March issue of US games mag EGM claims that the game is already in development for ‘multiple consoles’. Seeing as the first game was an Xbox 360 exclusive, this suggests the sequel may also be heading to PS3, and possibly even Wii and PC.
In addition, EGM claims that Capcom is not handling development duties, and that instead a Los Angeles based studio has taken the reins.
There is still no word on a possible release date.

Help me
I really wanted to love Dead Rising. I loved the idea, I LOVE zombies, but the whole save mechanic got right on my ****. I understand its implementation as being deliberate, and understand the reasoning - but that's not how I like to play games.
Re: Help me
Maybe this is a good thing. I loved Dead Rising, but let's face it, Capcom uses the same old game making formula they used back in the 80's. I'm tired of fighting bosses or level jumping. I just want a great zombie game where I get to smash zombies or shoot them.
I wouldn't mind seeing it go the way of GTA where it's an open city and the game has all these mission and side missions you can do, like rescue people from one part of town or go gather medicine for a group of sick people.
I just ask that this new company either leave out escorting survivors or make the survivors AI better.
Re: Help me
Agreed - this is one game that would be wonderous if based on the GTA template. Please let it be!
Re: Help me
I loved the game. Yes the save mechanics are bad, but they are the same in Res evil 4!.
the only other complaints i have are the loading between areas (rather it was all seemless, but make it a better experience), and the abilty to move whilst shooting (especially if it controlled like an FPS).
Aside from that, one of my favourite games ever!!
Re: Help me
Really looked forward to this, Played it, went on holiday, never bothered to pick it back up. Made the mistake of playing Crackdown, tried to play this again and frankly it simply doesn't cut the mustard, save game and controls are fatally flawed. Sold it on ebay over xmas for 30 notes so not bad.
The games frankly deeply flawed, Edge presented it as some sort of Japanese masterpiece who's quirks and problems are some sort of design masterplan but basically they just made a game that was broken and shoved it out the door to get their money back on it knowing the press would say anything Capcom released with Zombies in it was great.
Dead Rising using the Crackdown engine and controls wouldn't be a bad idea..
Re: Help me
its not borken its made like that delibratey
Re: Help me
I don't know about you guys, but I love the bosses and
leveling up features of Dead Rising. I think that's why it's as good as it is.
It gives you something to work towards even after you've beaten the game, and I'm all about replay value.
Re: Re: Help me
that game was BAD arse i loved the mega man outfit rofl
Re: Re: Re: Help me
The game was great. I love it. When my mate comes round, we order pizza, drink beer and play it all night. And Frank is one cool geezer. That blonde bird is really fit, cant remember her name though. It could of been made better I guess. But name one game that couldnt. The one thing that I didnt like was the subtitles. Would of been way better if they were voiced, and it was too small to read. Bring on the sequal (o:
Re: Re: Re: Re: Help me
If Dead Rising 2 was based on the GTA formula it would suck completely. Every design element in the original was there for a purpose, and if you didn't like it then the game didn't force you to love it. Bring back the timer, save system and mission based storyline. You can keep the poor survivor AI though.. that just plain irritated.
