Nintendo global boss rules out Home-style platform for Wii
Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has shot down any idea that Nintendo will follow Sony and create a virtual ‘social’ world for its consoles.
Iwata asserted that a PS3 Home-style service would risk compromising the platform holder’s desire to get ‘five to 95-year olds’ engrossed in their content.
Speaking to Gamespot, Iwata said:
“The virtual-world services out there now still aren't at a place where we'd like to join in - and certainly not to the point that we'd want to jump into competition with everybody else. We'd rather focus on doing things that nobody else would do.
“Our job is to constantly look into what people find fun and interesting. I mean, nobody else wants to develop a video game where you get on the scale and see how much you weigh.

“That's how we're able to keep offering people surprises and entertainment, so even if we were to make a virtual-world-like product, we'd be sure to make it something that nobody would call it a product similar to another company's offering.”

Your headine is wrong
If you read the actual interview with care you will see that what he says is that they won't copy anything that is already out there. Not that they won't do an MMO.
Re: Your headine is wrong
I think in using 'virtual worlds' MCV was referring to things like Sony's Home and 360's Live. Not sure if MMO was what they were implying?!
