Publisher says that multiplayer will be available on both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of its upcoming action title
Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s supposed revelation that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will be the only one to support online multiplayer, Rockstar has moved to deny the news.
A spokesperson for the publisher told MCV: “As we’ve said previously, both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will have an online multiplayer component.”
Xbox 360 fans can take solace in the fact that the Microsoft version will still be the only one to benefit from the post-release downloadable content.

Hmmm
Maybe I am a bit sceptical after all these years of trying to pick the nuggets of truth from press releases etc but...
“As we’ve said previously, both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will have an online multiplayer component.”
That doesn't say they have the same multi-player, just they both have some form of multiplayer.
I should be less pedantic.
If both consoles how good but different multiplayer I wonder how many suckers would buy both versions.
Re: Hmmm
I dont know of any game that is on PS3 and 360 that has different multiplayer look at COD4 is the same.
In any case its good that Rockstar confirmed as such, beit that I dont think Microsoft directly said '360 has online play only'...There wording sounded like it was.
I doubt the online will be different but I got a feeling since Sony has blu-ray for its games Rockstar could just fill it up with ingame advertising or extra stuff which probably isnt going to effect how the game is or plays but minor things like perhaps watch tv shows or something.
compare
Why won't anyone give a comparison of the game on the 2 systems? Xbox claims 720p, but no where is the highest resolution of the ps3 version listed, why not? Also, is there NO chance that the ps3 version will get downloadable content, ever? It sucks that no one has created a site that compares games available on both systems so those with both can make an informed decision as to which system to buy a game for.
