New outfit to develop, market, publish and distribute military espionage games
Industry veteran ‘Wild’ Bill Stealey has announced his return to the games industry with the founding of a brand new games company – Thriller Publishing.
The firm will oversee development, marketing, publishing and distribution of wholly-owned properties based on military and espionage themes.
Also joining Stealey are fellow industry veterans Fred Schmidt and Jim Bull, both of whom worked with Bill at MicroProse in the 1980s.
Thriller claims to already have a worldwide marketing and distribution team for Asia and Europe, and has signed a distribution agreement with a leading North American retailer.
“There is always opportunity for another compelling brand of quality games to emerge in this constantly growing industry,” Stealey stated. “Just as new development teams spin out of established studios or are formed among talented individuals, so too there is a periodic need for new publishing partners to arise as well.
“Small, focused, experienced publishers with excellent branding track records and a solid rolodex of distribution contacts can prove invaluable to new and independent studios who are looking to make their mark in the industry too.”
