Multi-format decision pays off as the game becomes the fastest selling instalment in the series

Devil May Cry 4 has sold two million copies worldwide, making it the fastest selling instalment in the series.

The publisher claims that its decision to take the game multi-format was the reason for its success. Devil May Cry was previously a Playstation exclusive series.

The Devil May Cry franchise has now sold over nine million units, and a PC version of Devil May Cry 4 is due later in the year.

They say in the article that it was previously a Playstation exclusive series, but Steam has the 3rd game or sale for PC....how strange?

It's almost as if they have not researched their facts correctly.

It was a PS2 exclusive, and games that are usually released on consoles first can be called exclusives as the agreement is based on different terms sometimes around 6months.

If you look at Xbox 360 games that are on the PC as well it usually says Only on Xbox 360 and games for Windows.

Either way the article is correct in the sense that it was a console exclusive.
