European and North American date set for EA’s sci-fi survival horror on PS3 and Xbox 360
Publisher Electronic Arts has dated one of its key new next-gen IPs today with the news that Dead Space will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in both Europe and North America on October 31st.
The game, which is being developed by EA’s Redwood Shores Studio, is a survival horror set in space. Violent, moody and tense, the game looks a little different from anything currently on the market.
“Survival horror is about experiencing a terrifying, and deeply personal fiction,” executive producer Glen Schofield stated.
“Dead Space is being developed as a single-player thriller that delivers the chilling, claustrophobic feeling of being isolated in a dark environment, while being stalked by some truly horrific enemies.
“Halloween is the perfect time for EA to deliver the fear and anxiety that will keep survival horror fans up playing all night.”

Don't know too much about this one, but then survival horror isn't really my thing. Sci-fi is, though. Nice to see EA doing the ol' new IP thing.
