Second-hand Xbox 360 titles slashed in price, with offers beginning at £3.99
Gamestation has made its play to become the UK’s leading destination for pre-owned games by slashing its prices on next-gen software.
The retailer’s most impressive cuts have come on Xbox 360 titles, with the cheapest being sold for a startlingly low £3.99.
Games such as Sega’s Football Manager 2006 are being sold at the bargain bin price, joined by the likes of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6, Microsoft’s Perfect Dark Zero and EA’s FIFA 06 at just £4.99.
PlayStation 2 games haven’t escaped the price cull, either – kicking off at a staggering 49p. EA’s FIFA Football 2004, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 3 and Codemasters’ LMA Manager 2004 are all being knocked out at the bargain price.
And the offers don’t stop there, with DS titles being sold for as cheap as £4.99 – including EA’s Madden NFL 2006 and Sega’s Project Rub.
Wii and PS3 titles are now being hawked at as low as £12.99, including THQ’s Avatar: The Legend Of Aang and recent Sega release Alien Syndrome on Nintendo’s console, and 2K Games’ Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver on Sony’s system.
Gamestation declined to comment on the move, but High Street chatter has pointed to it as a possible reaction to the aggressive trade-in pricing moves of other retailers such as former Gamestation owner Blockbuster.
The highlights of Gamestation.co.uk’s pre-owned cull come on Xbox 360…
Football Manager 2006 (Sega) £3.99
Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Konami) £4.99
Perfect Dark Zero (Microsoft) £4.99
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Ubisoft) £7.99
Blitz: The League (Midway) £9.99

Why cant GAME do this?
GAME own Gamestation yet Gamestation offer the best price on trade in's.
Re: Why cant GAME do this?
Yea we at blockbusters been kicking some gamestation ass on pre-owned, not suprising to see GS come out and change there price structure (even though game own them but we should see game shipping lots of things back and forth to both companies) I be suprised to see how Blockbusters react now (Blockbusters = trend setter)
Re: Why cant GAME do this?
"Blockbusters = trend setter"
Didnt you guys flog Gamestation to save ur own asses?
Re: Why cant GAME do this?
nope. gamestation is a money loser, probably the best sale that Blockbuster ever did. Whilst Game have finacially done well with GS and made them a hell of a lot better, Blockbuster on the other hand have restructered there gaming end and made Gamestation, Game scared, if not then there wouldnt be a mention of them at all in this article, im a neutral who just happens to give blockbuster credit for the hard work they have done ever since selling a big company like gamestation
Blockbuster lies.
Thats total crap about the blockbuster/gamestation deal, gamestation were propping up blockbuster uk, they sold gamestation because it was the only way they could pay off their multi million pound debts... since the sale blockbuster has had no choice but to pull its socks up and start taking some money...
Re: Blockbuster lies.
Yeah, that is a load of nonsense. Blockbuster is crippled with debt - selling off one of its few money-making businesses was about the only option left to it.

Ahmen! Blockys been gettin shafted by all the online rental companies! When the blockys right next to me closed down, the staff there were on about how the company is in major trouble. Gamestation has expanded really well over the years and became a major threat to Game, thats why they snapped them up.

Re: Blockbuster lies.
what a load of bull! i have traded in literally THOUSANDS of games and blockbuster is always the WORST for trade in's! i find game and gamestation are much the same and blockbuster and woolies a poor joint 3rd...they all con ya though at the end of the day! Best to sell it on ebay-get far more! As for this 'news'.....our local game and gamestation have been selling those games for those prices for MONTHS! i bought footy manager 2006 for 360 for 99p from Game a couple of months back!
Pre-owned revolution
Its coming in Summer 2008 - watch this space...!!! You're wallet is gonna love it!
Re: Pre-owned revolution
Best way to get decent trade in prices, is to take advantage of Gamestation's "Price match". Take a printout from CEX (who regularly beat the others by a significant margin on trade-ins) to Gamestation and they will beat CEX's trade-in price by £1.
I found this out recently when I took 2 games to Gamestation, MGS4 and Euro 2008, they were going to give me £17 for the pair. I went to CEX's website, took printouts back with me and got £35 for the pair... a bit of a difference you have to agree.
What this means is that you get the benefit of CEX trade-in prices plus you get new, rather than used games in return.
