And PS3 version seemingly not ruled out for 2009 updates
In last night’s financial report, Rockstar owning Take Two stated that downloadable episodic content is an area that it intends to invest heavily in, with regular updates for its biggest titles already penned in for 2009.
“We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands, BioShock 2, our complete sports lineup, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands,” Take Two CEO Ben Feder stated.
Whilst we know that the upcoming DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360 will be exclusive to Microsoft’s machine for 2008, the fact that Feder neglects to mention any specific platforms for 2009 suggests that perhaps PS3 owners will be treated to similar delights later down the line.
And on the theme of GTAIV, Take Two also confirmed that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, which is due out on April 29th, will be identical – aside from the fact that the Sony version will have a “slightly warmer colour pallet”.

Microsoft are offering a fantastic incentive for multi console owners to choose the X360 version of GTA IV. Free microsoft points and pictures. Why are they so aggressive with pushing their version?
Rockstar have offered special incentives to whoever wins the GTA IV sales war. The next full GTA IV game will be released in 2009. The winner will get an exclusive launch window.

“slightly warmer colour pallet”
So what's that when it's at home?

I think Ben's looking for a reaction with "slightly warmer colour pallet"
Not any reaction though...
A Fanboy Reaction...
Lol.
“There will be differences”

No developer in their right mind will ever slate a particular version they would be shooting themselves in the face if they did that.
Imagine working for ages on a game for 2 different machines and then saying 'You know what I think the (version) is better' sounds silly dont you think?
The only way to see any differences is the usual flame with pics and movies you know the score.

@ James
Ha :-)
Well, I wouldn't say I was hunting for a fanboy reaction. However, we are aware that a certain element of our readership is interested in the potential differences between the two versions. In my opinion, this is more or less meaningless difference. I can always turn the colour settings up on my TV if the 360 colours bother me that much - though I think to make a fuss about a tiny detail is a little on the anal side.

I just hope this means more than in-game clothes and gamer pics. But being Rockstar, I'm sure it does.
“PS3 - "slightly warmer colour pallet"...”

... is a load of twaddle.
According to IGN in their preview: "The 360 build is brighter and has slightly more vibrant color while the PS3 build has less aliasing issues."

Well, Ted, having not played it myself I shan't accuse either IGN or Take 2 of talking 'twaddle'. I'll wait and see when I play it for myself.

i think if they say they are identical in every way and the ps3 has warmmer color then it looks like they saying that the ps3 its the better one now plus i heard that maybe one of the episodes might go ps3 according to sales and gta series always play good on a sony console specially with dualshock

As Ben stated this is meaningless, and if you think this makes one better than the other then you seriously need to get a life.
I would like to see the differences in the two, but not to slate one over the other, just to see, how much of a difference can be seen.

@9
By saying that there's a slight difference in colour they are clearly not saying the PS3 version is better, are they. They're just making a technical observation. That's like saying the PS3 version is better because the Xbox 360 is a noisier machine, or that the 360 version is better as you can bring up your friends list in-game.
Now, all of you, stop being so sad. Just buy whatever version you need for whatever console you have and be done with. The buying habits of others are of no concern to you.
