Doom and gloom for PC, whilst Nintendo and EA slug it out for publishing supremacy
The latest exclusive MCV UK Charts analysis, in conjunction with ChartTrack and ELSPA, shows that February was a tough time for the PC market – though not for chart-toppers Nintendo and EA.
"Looking at the format share and you’ll notice that the PC is not doing particularly well at the moment," ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch told MCV.
"It revolves around The Sims, World of Warcraft, Football Manager and the odd war/strategy title (e.g. Call of Duty), with the more traditional games not performing well at all. We feel the market for PC games is on a downward spiral in terms of value generated in the UK market."
Elsewhere, Nintendo and EA fought it out amongst themselves for chart supremacy in February. Click here for the full feature.

What does "value generated" mean?
Re: definition
Actual £s in the till (as opposed to total units sold)
PS3 almost caught the wii/x360
PS3 --19.6
X360--19.9
Well GT5 Prologue atleast makes the end of CONSOLE WAR in UK and OFCOURSE EUROPE ( where ps3 and wii are the only consoles being existent)
March 28th hopefully sees the end of console war in both europe and UK
GT5 P alone has over 1 million in preorders in EUROPE alone. Halo 3 didnt even have 200k preorders in EUROPE.
I think monthly eu sales GT5P will outguns the sales of all x360 games combined for the year in europe
Re: PS3 almost caught the wii/x360
PC down PC down. urgh. Give it a rest. No triple AAA releases on the format for February where the consoles had too many to chose from. THAT'S why PC sales are lower.
This 'PC is in decline' record is becoming boring.

Is that because PC has been in decline for ages?

The PC isnt in decline. The last few triple AAA titles were console only in February, so of course sales are going to be higher on console.
If you take them out of the maths, you will see that the PC actually still out paces the consoles. Just a couple of % behind with no triple AAA releases is good going.
