Famitsu data reveals platform holder ruled fiscal year in terms of both hardware and software

According to fresh Famitsu data – translated by Kotaku – Nintendo ruled both hardware and software slaes in Japan throughout 2007.

The Nintendo DS beat out all other consoles – with PSP coming in second and Wii placed as the highest home system in third.

The full annual hardware sales details (minus PS2, which wasn’t mentioned) reads:

1) Nintendo DS:
6,343,547 units
22,169,761 units to date

2) PSP:
3,427,971 units
8,574,026 units to date

Trolltech


3) Wii:
3,741,946 units
5,695,579 units to date

4) PS3:
1,197,418 units
2,009,492 units to date

5) Xbox 360
235,318 units
602,558 units to date

The software charts for 2007 told a similar story, with Wii Fit crushing all competition. The full list reads:

1) Wii Fit: 1,762,193 units
2) Mario Party DS: 1,659,315 units
3) Wii Sports: 1,616,377 units
4) Super Smash Bros. Brawl: 1,554,852 units
5) Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: 1,354,447 units
