Peter Moore admits firm has reduced output on format as it ‘presents a serious business challenge’
EA has limited the number of sports games it will release on PC this year – with boss of EA Sports Peter Moore calling the platform a “serious business challenge”.
On his blog, Moore admits that the firm has been forced to cut its sports output on PC, because the majority of gamers are “playing [their] favourite sports games on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii”.
The first victim of the new policy is Madden ’09, which will now only get a console release.
However, Moore does add that EA still has “ideas for how to revitalize the PC for sports games”.
He writes:

‘We knew that our decision to not develop this year's Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision in some circles. But I'll reiterate what I said a couple of weeks ago in this space...the PC presents some very serious business challenges to us in the sports category, particularly because so many of you all are playing your favorite sports games on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii…
‘We are committed to shipping a limited number of our games on the PC this year, but we've also had to cut a few of our games from the platform. We do have ideas for how to revitalize the PC for sports games and the types of games that are best suited to the platform, and we'll continue to explore those.’

no tw09 for PC
Think that EA has smacked the loyal tiger wood's gamer's on the PC in the mouth. If it wasn't for these gamer's there would be no game's for other [latform's and i think there attitude toward's the PC fraternity, just stink's.EA,You have shot yourself in the foot as from now on i will boycott buying any more of EA's game, and let me also say i won't be the only one to do so.
Re: no tw09 for PC
i hate consoles. my last pc cost $1100 and i built it primarily for tw08. to abandon this platform is sad. aren't these games developed on pc. i don't understand the "business challenge" on releasing these games on pc platform. get it right or i am gone, and i'll take hundreds with me!
