Branded games controllers and accessories on the way from peripherals specialist
Third-party accessory provider Mad Catz has agreed into a licence agreement with Arsenal Football Club plc to produce customised video game controllers and accessories that carry with the team’s brand.
The multi-year agreement provides Mad Catz with rights to distribute the products throughout Europe.
Mad Catz plans to develop Arsenal-branded video game controllers, faceplates, ‘Console Skinz’ and carrying cases for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS and Nintendo Wii.
“Arsenal is one of the world’s premier sporting franchises with a global fan base and the addition of this brand to our robust license portfolio should help strengthen the penetration of Mad Catz’ products in key European markets,” said president and CEO of Mad Catz Darren Richardson.
“We look forward to providing European retailers and customers with a range of Arsenal-branded videogame accessories.”

Arsenal Controller
Bad idea Madcast will sell very few products with Arsenal logo on it. At least pick a good team lol. Realisitcly this is too much of a nich market, which will end up getting now where in profit tearms. Why not have branded sticks or cases instead. Its a joke if they think Arsenal has a big market for madcast electronics, how many Arsenal supporters need a madscast item? And then will you charge more for the product. I dont think any one cares who supports arsenal for example: if a Madcast video controller has got a Arsenal logo on it when a Logitck doesnt. I dout they will go with Madcast soley in thought reason. As a liverpool fan I will certinly not be buying a Arsenal decorated controller, in fact i'll boycott all madcast products because i dont like thought of seeing there products associated or coved in it. Logiteck forever now.
Re: Arsenal Controller
Tim - I think you just found your latest journo for the team. Sign him up. ROFL
Re: Arsenal Controller
Dan you make a good case and I don't disagree with anything you have said but you forget the younger games players who buy the new shirts each season, the mags and even go so far as to buy the same boots their favourite player is wearing. These are the consumers that may well get caught up in this not to mention memorabillia collectors who may think that an Arsenal controller would make a welcome addition to their haul not to mention parents buying gaming items and accessories for birthdays, christmas or as just plain replacements. While the more adult and controlled consumer may shy away from these items I think there may well be some mileage in it and wouldn't be surprised to see them on sale at the Emirates shop soon. Just a thought :)
Re: Arsenal Controller
so does that mean Madcatz Arsenal branded controllers will copy the team and fall apart just after Christmas ? ;)
Arsenal controller?
Arsene Wenger goes down well with the kids.
Needs to be Man Utd innit.
Dem crazy catz
Re: Arsenal controller?
No doubt the unlucky purchaser will have a controller that means you can only move your character side ways as going forward with any momentum will just result in a break down of your attack!!!!!
Presumably it will smell of onions and garlic as well!!!!
Re: Arsenal controller?
You lot make me laugh is it time to have a go at Arsenal. The most consistant team in football history & this is also over 100 seasons not 1 season, As for falling apart after Christmas I will just have to except that for the present. Arsenal play the best football & you know it.
You are just jealous would it be alright if it was Man u Chelsea or Liverpool.
