Enterbrain boss forecasts that updated model is set to be unveiled at LA expo
The president of Japanese market authority Enterbrain – parent company of Famitsu – has predicted that Nintendo will unveil a new DS model at E3 in July.
According to Bloomberg Japan – translated by akayuki.com – Hirokazu Hamamura said Nintendo might be readying to show off the third iteration of its handheld system later this year during the E3 Media and Business Summit.
Nintendo European boss Reggie Fils-Aime has previously stated that the company is lining up some "fantastic" announcements for the expo.
However, a spokesperson for Nintento UK has told MCV that the company “doesn’t comment on rumour or speculation”.
E3 2008 will be held between Tuesday, July 15th and 17th.

Just cosmetic
Bigger screen
Better Battery life
Possibly better security to stop 'homebrew' carts.
Nothing really special.
You heard it here first.

Re: Just cosmetic
The comments made by 1 & 2, I think say it all what can they do, unless they want to put Sat Nav on it or compete with Sonys PSP.
Re: Just cosmetic
Anything that will make it harder for people to use R4s has gotta be a goodthing.
If it results in a bigger screen fantastic, can't really fault the battery - so don't personally see any need for change there.
Re: Just cosmetic
Now just leave R4's out of this! What next? That being *** is wrong?People like U-Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!
(although they are kind of wrong, well really wrong when you think of the physical aspect-perhaps I need to rethink my life goal...............)
Re: Just cosmetic
Enlarge both screens and increase res of both screens and make the touchscreen 'multitouch' like iphone, install a 16-20 gb flash drive, web browser with flash 8/9 and more powerful graphical engine, extend battery life and wi-fi range, add wi-fi and voice-chat for Pictochat, more brightness and other acessable settings for the DS, and bluetooth and accellermeter for DS to Wii connectivity and playability.
