Sixaxis shortage prompts DualShock 3 release down under; still no word on UK date
Sony’s DualShock 3 controller will hit retail shelves in Australia on April 24th for a price of AU $99.95.
The controller will also arrive in New Zealand on May 9 for a price of NZ $109.95.
The announcement was prompted by a shortage of Sixaxis controllers in this territory.
“Due to the shortage of Sixaxis controllers, we decided that Australia should be the priority for the new DualShock 3 pads,” said a Sony spokesperson to MCV.
“The DualShock 3 will be released in other territories soon, but there’s no dates to confirm just yet.”

What?!
Thats like £47 quid for a dual shock?!
Re: What?!
How do you know if you have been shot in COD4? Does the screen say rumble on the screen?! LOL
Sales will go up when its got them in the pack.
Very weak its still taking this long...
I did hear that the rumble (shock) is more like a little tickle so even when its out your still need the Rumble on screen! LOL
Re: What?!
Sorry but in all of the news I've heard in recent months regarding sales records, which territory generates the most retail revenue, what territories generate the fastest sales etc
I havent heard Australia mentioned once.
Oh, actually, there was that time when it was announced that GTA4 would be getting released over there with cuts.
Oh yeah, and that time when it was announced that Manhunt would never see the light of day out there.
What else?
er, I cant think of anything else?
So why are Sony doing this?
Has Australia suddenly become a more important territory for Sony than the UK?
Did I miss something?
Do they even play videogames over there?
I dont own a PS3 but this confuses me with my current knowledge of where the market is at???
Please guys, dont hit back at me saying things like 'duh, didnt you read the article, its about shortages'
Yes, I did read it and I think that excuse is B**locks!!
Re: What?!
I can't work out why it has taken so long to release this outside of Japan and the US...
Frankly I got bored of waiting and imported one months ago. For the £35 I paid, it looks like i got myself a bargin.
Re: What?!
Judging from the amount of Sixaxis stock sony are currently dumping on the U.K market. I anticipate a launch in the U.K soon.
Re: What?!
Me and my mate got sick of waiting as well, we saved $30 each!!! Glad I imported one.
Sixaxis
When (IF) it comes out in the UK/Europe, I'm gonna but a sixaxis withit so I can have four controllers, ****e ones for friends, good one for me! Resistance 2s gonna rule!
