55:45 - that's going to shock MS

I would like to know what happened to the sales of copies sold prior to Tuesday. Its well known that many supermarkets were selling Friday and Saturday, which should fall into last weeks Chart Track or has there been some fudging of the figures?

No doubt, I don't even consider that an MS victory...that's more of a victory for Sony, given the attach rate that denotes.

that ratio may be related to stock levels. If most stores sold out first day then could just be a lot of xbox owners were turned away. will have a far clearer idea by the end of the week. Would surprise me though if it continues, especially given MS advertising of GTA

accounting for early sales doesn't really matter since those copies would have been sold the first day anyhow.

Well.. all the 360 copies *did* sell out so it's not surprising they topped out in the percentages

All to true, either way, rockin game. All owners should be quite happy. I'm psyched that I've yet to experience any issues in framerate or online problems, thus far.

despite that PS3 has 45% of the first day sales

expect GTA4 to move a lot more PS3s than x360.

In germany/spain/italy PS3 version of GTA4 outsold the x360 version 10:1

And PS3 fanboys finally have a good game to play on their consoles.

Swedish Gamereactor mentioned in their 10/10 review that they were pretty surprised regarding the difference between the PS3 and 360-versions. The PS3-version features better colours, contrast, load times and what looks to be better resolution textures. The game also looks sharper and has a more stable fps.

We'll see how happy you are when the additional content for the 360 comes into play. I'd rather have more game than slightly sharper graphics.

I have both systems and love both for what they are, but sony people ... dont wanna use the word fanboys.. but i have too since theres no other way of describing them. They are so brutal compared to the "xbox fanboys". Chill out.... cant u people start actually listening to facts and not pushing them a way cause some favor xbox.... gta 4 .If u look at the side by side comparisons its better on the 360 graphically... now calm down its not that big a difference, but its mainly due to the fact that 360 has a better graphics card and ps3 relies more on the processor to push the graphics. PS3 is running at a lower resolutions apparently and they scale it up thats where the slight blur comes from. They dont have anti aliasing just some blur. They probably had to do that to make the frames per second equal to the 360s. Not to say that ps3 doesnt have some finer points... like the pop up which is hardly apparent ... again just like that smaller resolutions pretty much hardly apparent. The games are practically identical. 360 just has ACTUAL anti aliasing to get rid of some of those jaggies... its probably only 2x to keep the framerate going cause for every level u have re render the scene a second time. The colors of the game, personally the 360 looks more realistic, again probably cause of the graphics card, while the ps3 well cant argue this with any fanboy, they will say they like better so in either case its all what u prefer, sony always had a brighter disposition.

In either case the game is pretty much identical, both had to make small(very small) sacrifices to run equally.

I do know 360 has that extra content and its online is running great. So personally id go with the 360 on this one, every store i went to has sold out of it on the 360 version.

Again not to criticize sony, its pretty much the exact same game. Im just trying to get through to the sony fanboys to chill out, both systems have great games, and both systems are practically identical in the way they run and look. They are just implemented differently, 360 better vid card, sony better processor, u can scream about all those cores 3 vs 7 or 6 actually since 1 used for the os and 1 non existant.... but sony has to make do with using other cores to push its graphics, as well as the fact that it has seperate places for memory which makes it difficult to make it work...

like i said... both these systems are great for gamers, its all about what games are out there and what you would like to play

I can understand why the "PS3 Fanboys" are all fired up because they have been knocked for not having good games etc... and they feel like this game favors their system...that being said I own a ps3

Man it's times like these were im embaressed that i own a PS3, that's because there are so many PS3 Fanboys-and they give PS3 owners a bad name. I bought the game for both versions, and i haven't really noticed a difference between the two except for slightly smoother frame-rate and less pop-in on the PS3.

And for the people who keep talking about this "exclusive content" for 360, lighten up. Rockstar likes money, and 50 million isn't a lot. Rockstar already said that they will give PS3 its own exclusive content. On top of that, if the DLC on 360 does not sell, Rockstar said that they would refund the money and release it on the PS3 aswell. Even if the DLC goes well for 360, its still coming to PS3 a year later at maximum. Rockstar ain't about to alienate Sony and its "fanboys" just for 50 million.

As for 360's DLC going to the PS3, it wont happen, however its very likely the PS3 will get its own set of DLC it just wont be what is seen on the 360(not saying itll be any better or worse)

there is more xbox 360 gta sales coz there is more 360 around. but the ratio of people who have ps3 who bought gta, to the ratio of people who have 360 who bought it is higher.

I knew as soon as I read the article there would be PS3 fanboys making excuses about why the PS3 version sold less. Does it really matter? It doesnt mean the Xbox is better than the PS3, it just means more people on the Xbox wanted the game. I bought the PS3 version myself, simply because most of my mates play on PS3 and I want to play online with them, therefore the PS3 version would be more fun for me and thats all that matters. Sounds like that Wasim guys takes his PS3 to bed at night and snuggles up with it :)

How the hell can you say the PS3 has the better version of GTA 4. I don't like all this my consoles better than yours rubbish, competition is good for everybody but check the Net before making remarks like that. I hear day one PS3 had no server for online, and If im not very much mistaken, Xbox 360 version runs in 720p, and the PS3 version runs in 630p - Why is that I ask.

How can the PS3 have a better load time - are you taking into account the 10 minutes of enforced install?

That is a win for Sony in the books, MS have the extra downloadable content, the advertising has all be on 360 yet 55:45 thats a big win and massive loss for MS im sure that many extra discs for MS has not made them the same as what they spent

In the NetherlandsToys 'r Us sold a boxed PS3 GTprologue with a free copy of GTA resulting in a massive shipment of PS3 hardware...this should be taken into account when comparing the MS vs. Sony sales
