Interactive entertainment-focused broadcaster ends run for ‘the foreseeable future’
It’s a sad day for fans of gaming on television – as Gamer TV has announced it is to cease broadcasting after five years.
In a statement, the company explained:
‘After being on air continuously since December 2002, Gamer TV, Europe’s most respected games television series, has ended its run for the foreseeable future.
‘IMG who own the rights to the Gamer TV brand have decided that it no longer forms part of their future plans, despite the series performing well on Bravo in the UK and on other channels around the world.’
Since September 2005 the series has been produced by indie Lighthouse Productions Ltd.

Executive producer Richard Wilcox commented: “It’s the end of an era but one which we’ll look back on with pride. We’ve built an audience and reputation worldwide. ”

Gutted
Well this sucks!
A great show with honest reviews, my sunday mornings will never be the same again.
Re: Gutted
Well said @1. This will be sorely missed - a million times more enjoyable than games coverage on the beeb, ITV etc - and a trillion times better than the 'krazee' US equivalents.
Bravo, Gamer TV - and thanks for the memories. You'll be sorely missed.
Re: Gutted
That's rubbish but TV gaming isn't dead! I stumbled across this little peach the other day called Ginx TV - google it

Bring back Gamesmaster with Dominic Diamond.
NFT.
Come Back
Bravo should bring it back. At a time when so many people buy games why are they cancelling the only show about games in the UK? you have to wonder if Bravo will come up with something else equally as good.
Re: Come Back
Don't forget Pulse - doing well on Sky and has around 1.6m people watching.
