Capcom makes Mark Beaumont COO

Exec takes role in Us and Europe and maintains position on Board as publisher eyes Western expansion

Mark Beaumont has been promoted to chief operating officer of Capcom in North America and Capcom Entertainment Europe, as well as maintaining his position on the Capcom Board of directors.

Beaumont had been serving as Executive Vice President, Officer, and head of the consumer software publishing business in North and South America and Europe. His promotion was effective from April 1st, 2008.

“Since joining Capcom in 2005, Mark has been the driving force behind the company’s improved performance, resulting in an overall revenue growth of 10 per cent in the US and 20 per cent in Europe,” said Capcom president Hiroshi Tobisawa.

“This deserved promotion recognizes his dedication and commitment to Capcom.”

Beaumont has been with Capcom Entertainment since 2005, joining the company as senior VP, then being promoted in 2007 to executive VP and officer with additional responsibilities to oversee Capcom’s European business.

Beaumont has over 25 years in the video game industry, dating back to working for the original incarnation of Atari.
