Body that ordered the removal of GTA posters taken to court by publisher

Take Two began legal proceedings against the Chicago Transit Authority yertserday, accusing it of pulling ads for GTA IV without explanation.

According to Reuters, the publisher sued the transit authority in Manhattan federal court for violating its free speech and contractual rights yesterday, saying it pulled its posters within days of the ads first appearing on April 22nd.

Take Two accused the authority and its sales agent, Titan Outdoor LLC, of ‘violating a $300,000 (£150,000) ad campaign agreement that included running "Grand Theft Auto 4" poster ads on the sides of buses and transit display spaces throughout the Chicago transit system scheduled for six weeks between April and June’.

The suit seeks an order for the transit authority to run the ads as well as monetary damages of at least $300,000.

The advertisements were removed following a report by a Fox News affiliate that questioned why the ad was allowed to run after a wave of violent crimes in Chicago, the suit said.

“Can't wait for the parody/jokes in GTA5.”

You know what will happen now...Both Chicago and Manhattan will be mocked and ridiculed in the next GTA.

Rock Star will have the mayor or person in charge of both authorities become the first person you've got to kill in the next episode of the game! Or even in the expansion packs!

If they're in breach, then they should pay up, regardless of the content.

If they even had an inkling, then they should've refused the advertising and not been so greedy in the first place!
