PS3 shifted a whole 2% more systems than 360 due to GTA4 in the same week, this is something Sony can shout about, because in the US GTA4 shifted over 1 million more copies on the 360, I guess R* will continue to support the 360 from now on, as this is the machine that sells the most units of games.

The attach rate for 360 far outstrips the PS3, simply because the bigger and better variety of games avaliable for the 360.

If you look at the total number of consoles sold worldwide and then compare the sales figures for GTA 4 it is clear the PS3 is doing extremely well.

And it was pretty obvious the 360 was going to have more sales of GTA 4 than PS3 due to the install base alone! This time next year it will be a very different picture.

Actually,i'm an avid Vgchartz member....and an owner of all 3 consoles. But to correct your statement,the ps3 outsells the 360 by 30 to 40 k a week worldwide. At Christmas time 07 PS3 was behind 7.5 million....now it's 6.4 million. 1.1 million more consoles in 5 months i say is pretty respectable.

This is great news for both systems to be honest 5% more isnt that big a deal in the long term but the big news to take home from this is the hardware sales jump for both machines again 2% is pretty indifferent in terms of a so called battle but htis is great news for games retailers as the industry continues to get another boost from another great title in such difficult times in retail.

The PS3 runs at 1080p you just have to buy the HD cable..Don't tlak about **** you don't know..

Well, considering that PS3 has been outselling the 360, I would say that even though it's a 2% margin difference in hardware sales that it's still an even larger increase. If Sony has been selling 100,000 every week while the 306 has been selling 50,000, the increase for PS3 would be 120,000 increase while the 360 would only be 62,000. You really can't be that stupid....can you?

It is clear that GT4 was developed much better for the 360 but why is it that one game can be so different on each console? The answer is the back end. Although the PS3 may be more powerful that doesn't mean its using it efficiently. I have no proof behind this other what I've read so far but it seems that programming especially for the PS3 is much more difficult than the 360. Also the 2% increase in sales could have been for a Mothers Day present, i mean there's not really any way to tell if its just a coincidence so I'm only disputing that theres no evidence to prove that fact. No on to my solution for domination.

I do believe with exception to the game selection argument that if the xbox360 adopts the bluray player either by making an additional addon or console variation I think it would quickly dominate the market. Also if they reduced the XBL subscription price or made XBL free I think Sony would be utterly screwed.

We need competing companies or nothing would ever get better.Competition pushes companies to develop new better things.If it was just the Xbox or just the PS3 gaming would be a joke.Oh and home is eventually coming out that might boost sales for Sony.

Enter XBox...oh yeah we have Halo. A standard FPS with a couple of nice touches and a story so cliched they make bog paper out of it now.

What else do they have? Well, let's just get all the same games that the Playstation has, make them with ever-so-slightly better graphics (since we had time to put a better graphics chip in the brick) and we'll buy all the ones that WON'T make games for us.
