And it’s expected to grow even more over the coming year
Dutch games advocate The NGLD Foundation had announced that Holland’s games industry had grown to be worth almost €1 billion.
The body reported that, in the last year, the country’s games industry had exceeded the revenue of the movie industry for the first time.
"The remarkable success of the Dutch game industry can be attributed to the significant interest in game related research, education and science in the Netherlands," said NLGD chairman Seth van der Meer.
Van der Meer added that he expected the Dutch gaming industry would grow to EUR 1.2 billion in the next 12 months – and that the business’ employee count would increase from 1,500 to 1,800.
