personally i think more titles are not going to make better Ps3, according to stats ps3 owners have around 3.5 titles per console, and about Kill Zone 2 we must se actual gameplay to say, and even if Gears 2 is not that different from the original gears it has destructible enviroments i think thats pretty damn good.

fable 2 is gunna be amazing. a strong contender for game of the year i think!

Nothing earthshattering about Microsofts lineup, that said I don't really find Sony's efforts that much better, is anyone else bored with bigger and better sequels? Im a fan of the Metal Gear series but find it hard to go all 'fanboy' over something with a number at the end, maybe my gaming tastes are changing................

I must say pretty decent line up. It would be foolish to discount this line up, Banjo and Fable 2 look to be quite appealing(Personally). So does GeOW2. Ninja Gaiden is also looking to be a great summer game, but I'd probably be too pre-occupied with MGS 4 to play it in summer (maybe near the end).

All in all, great line up.

Quite a strong Christmas line up when you consider Nintendo haven't unveiled theirs yet and few Sony titles have slipped till next year.

Fantastic to see Microsoft continue to promote the Viva Pinata brand, although I feel the game is likely to do better on DS then all the 360 games combined.

Gears of War 2 looks amazing and I'm even tempted by Fable 2. Too Human also helps round off the hardcore list.

And then there's Banjo Kazooie. Although clearly more vehicle centric, it has an almost Ratchet and Clank feel about it. Which is no bad thing. I hope RARE's recent Viva form can translated to Nuts and Bolts. I loved Banjo Kazooie, but there was far too much collecting in Tooie. Lets hope this one gets it right.

Once again, these are just the games published by Microsoft Game Studios, not the 360's entire lineup. The article title is a little misleading.

i want to say first that im a owner of all 3 next gen consoles. i used to be a 360 fanboy but now that i bought a ps3 i flat out love it. not to say that i still dont like my 360 i just believe sony is going to have more to offer in the long run and is already doing a great job as is. Uncharted is one of the best games ever. just gonna say that this lineup isnt "weak" its short. viva pinatat is a peice of crap. gow2, ninja gaiden2, too human, and banjo kazooie are solid, but,the ps3 has a much better lineup for 2008. their have already been lists of ps3 games coming out so im not going to create a grand list of them. if you really arent a fanboy you will search the titles and try to become informed of both consoles. Plus HOME is scheduled for a fall release which will greatly help sony be successfull in 2008

Just got my PSX4 with GTA 5-"Endgame",but this years line up of releases is looking really bleak,count yourself lucky you retro geeks!

I own a 360, but theres nothing jumping out at me this year (apart from Fable 2, lets hope ol' Pete makes good on his promises this time round). Its all good though, only thing stopping me buying a PS3 was the price and more importantly the amount of games. Maybe xmas 2008 will be the year i finally buy a PS3. I dunno why everyone gets so fanboyish. Surely competition is a good thing? Or do we really want one firm dominating the market, dictating what we play?

the list only consist of games coming out of the MS Gaming studios...obviously there are other great games coming out this year...

It's funny how deep immaturity and ignorance runs in some people. Microsoft doesn't have the best lineup, but it doesn't mean that they've nothing to offer. But lets step back and address the problem here. Sony Droids. We'll switch all the titles, this is hypothetical of course. MS has all the titles that Sony has, all exclusive, MGS4 the works. Xbox line up looks good as does the PS3, though to be honest its about time as I haven't switched my PS3 on in 2 months. The 360 is getting all the play at the moment, maybe the new line up and HOME will make a difference, I don't know, time will tell. Until then Sony Fanboys can just keep talking crap.

I think this is a pretty decent line up, I'll definitely be getting GOW 2 and Fable 2.

Looks a stellar lineup if you ask me. I own both a PS3 and a 360 and im personally much more excited about whats the 360 has to offer over the next 12 months in terms of exclusives.

Resistance was weak imo - KZ2 again looks avaerage at best and im not a fan of the MGS series.... so if you take those out of the equation what is there for me?! not a fat lot i can tell you. Ok - motorstorm 2 looks decent, but when you look at the 360... gears 2, fable 2, banjo, ninja gaiden - they all look superb.

The only downside to the list is No Alan wake.

There is nothing I have seen on either PS3 or 360 from the first parties that gets me that excited. And to be honest only a couple of titles from the 3rd parties which are multiformat.

kill zone 2 has game play footage, just check gametrailers.com i think with 3 red lights, £40 a year for lag, and 360 looking dated as the other consoles seem to still look like they are only just getting started says alot.

i love my 360 for 1st 2 years, it red lighted and xbox didnt want to know, i missed the ext warrenty, so i dont have faith in the company, and their games dont inspire me.

any studio who can purchase the new unreal engine can have the same game experience as gears of war 2, the engine is not exclussive here.
I can tell you we have had so many GTA traded in as it cant run online and we sold 200 units p3 and 75 on xbox 360.

i dont care either way im here to be in business, this is just the trends in sales i have experienced myself.

I own an 360. But I admit I am a GAMES FANBOY - not any console fanboy. This is a poor line-up from MS. Yes there will be other games from other studios but there's nothing here that really would make me want to go out and get the console if I didn't already have it. I've never played Fable so I can't comment on it but Gears of War 1 was OK but I got bored after a while, so I'd be in no rush to get the sequel.

I've been toying with getting a PS3 for a while (gotta justify the cost!) and to me the PS3 line-up this year is better. I loved SOCOM or my PS2 and that really appeals and MGS4 would probably sway me to buy one the minute I see it in the shops.

I've played on a friend's PS3 and played Uncharted which I was gobsmacked by (amazing graphics and a great game) and also played GT-5 which again was unbeliveable and better than PGR I have to admit.

It really does show that the PS3 is now the way to go for any new console buyers. I'm glad I didn't buy GTA IV yet for my 360 (the RROD hit me last month so I kind of wasn't too eager to play much....) so I if I get a PS3 I'll get this on that.

It's a shame other 360 owners can't just accept that the 360 this year just doesn't have the same wow factor the PS3 has. But surely it was inevitable - it happened when the 360 was launched and soon had better line-ups than the PS2?

Maybe then those rumours about the next XBox coming in 2010 are true after all and MS are saving some big guns for that... But by then I'll be happy enough on the PS3.

Coming from the UK I cant understand how PS3 dominates Europe? I personally know 2 people with a PS3 compared to hundreds who own a 360? I mean who buys a console with worse aliasing than the line tool on MS paint? An online service I wouldnt be "Paid" to use it lags that bad, and one good game (MGS4) If the PS3's idiotic console architecture doesnt ruin it with horrible aliasing.

its down to timing for me, the 360 is comin up for 3 years old now and ps3 is only 1 year in the UK so it is bound to be only just getting started and of course more people have 360 as this was the only next gen machine for 2 years,

its ok saying you dont like MGS 4 or what ever exclussive ps3 game, but alot of people do and this sways people towards ps3, rather than this poor line up for Xbox,

also xbox only upscales into HD as it only plays dvds, now dvds are not HD, but blu ray discs are, not just this 50 gig is possible for 1 blu ray disc, this gives alot of scope for studios to develop bigger games, as games seem to be quite short now, (most of them)

the ps3 has alot of power 8 processors V 3 in the 360
and i have seen alot of lag on xbox live recnetly when ive played, then ps3 seems alot more stable online with GTA and COD 4.

im not bias either way, but some people just dont accept the facts, if both machines were the same power and functionality then it would be just down to software, but there are alot of other differences,

ok 360 is very low priced now, but ive seen ps3 with GTA for £299.99 and free online, wireless netrworking you dont need any other extras, just play online and download demos.

PS3 dominates Europe because basically the consumers don't really care too much about the specs of the system. Consumers in countries like Italy and Spain have stuck with Sony and will continue to do so. Pure brand loyalty. MS didn't do enough in many parts of Europe to try and win consumers away from Sony when the Xbox launched in the same way they did in the UK.

The UK will take Sony longer to win over, but when 75% of the European territory is already going that way, it should see that happen in a matter of time.

These are only from MS studios but it's pretty obvious that these are supposed to be their best games of 08. About the ps3 lineup this year.. Its kinda better then microsofts, think about all the exlusives that will be released on it this year. Some games that iam really looking forward to play on my ps3 this year is:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4
2. Tekken 6
3. White knight chronicles
4. Little big planet
5. Resistance 2
6. Motorstorm 2
7. Final Fantasy XIII and XIII versus, this is the 2 game that iam easily looking the most forward to play, although I dont think that the 2 games will make a 2008 release, but Iam really hoping that square atleast will release a demo on the 2 games soon

Too many fanboys who can't read....again. Tired of it. These are only the "Microsoft Game Studio" release list for the Xbox 360. It doesnt include third party games i.e. Left for Dead, Splinter Cell Conviction, Age of Conan, Huxley, etc. Last I heard, the PS3 MGS4 is distributed by Konami and not by Sony. I am fortunate to have both systems. Im just tired of the fanboyism posting (Xboxers & PS3rs) who spread BS to the public.

Exclusive Games im buying in 08: MGS4, GOW2, FF, Halo Wars, Too Human, NG2, Resistance 2. Haze, the demo turned me off and online reviews on it has been mediocre. I might rent this one first.

Why is it Fanboys always feel compelled to make lists to prove a point and why is anything over a year old ancient to them? It's all relative ,a sixteenth especialy!

I personally think the list is pretty good. Microsoft has more games in their locker, this is just their Christmas line up. And as it's already been mentioned, this is just the first party line up. There's plenty of third party exclusives coming too.

It'll be a good Christmas for all I feel.

Comparing Fable 2 to FF13 is like comparing apples to oranges. They are entirely different beasts of RPGs. Would you not agree with this, and if not explain why?
Fable 2 is an western action RPG, whereas FF13 is a turn based JRPG. So really the only thing I see that's weak here is your comparison, would'nt you agree?
Also MGS4 and GoW2 are different beasts. MGS4 is "Tactical Espionage Action" whereas GoW2 is a "Sci-Fi Military Shooter" An apple tastes and looks different from an orange. Same thing with these games.

It is all a matter of opinion, I feel its a good line up. It will be with some thought that these games are to be released. The problem is it seems that some of you just dont like MS, I will not call you fanboys maybe you have been dumped on by MS. The other problem is some people are cleary very narrow minded, not alot of thought went into what they read, except quick time to knock MS.
The games to be released will not let anyone down not least MS, they will sell shed loads. For me it seems as though its a play it safe year & these games are wanted big time by a lot of gamers.
I know, I have been waiting a long time for Banjo kazooie, Fable 2 GOW2 & To human so I will not be dissapointed. As a fellow European Gamer I hate being told that we are a PS3 dominated area. I dont like being forced into selecting a console in fact im lucky enough to own both. I love my 360 and my PS3 fair enough I use my 360 for games and my PS3 for the blu ray films but thats the setup I like I will be getting MGS4 when it comes out and def Final Fantasy. What has irritated me on here is FAN BOYS forcing words into my mouth I dont hate 360s and Americans in fact I prefer to play my 360 online because I got more chance of understanding what the guys say. Also I thought there were more 360s in the UK than PS3s or am I wrong?.

well i must say the ps3 line-up does sound exciting but im not choosing sides here. i own a 360 myself and i enjoy it but ps3 just has the upper hand here but when you look at gears 2 and fable 2 the 360 might have a chance to succeed. But I have to admit MGS guns of the patriots does look amazing and has a bunch of stuff you can find, to me it looks like the only best game for the ps3 for these years but its just my thoughts.
