EA reveals sterling performance for title, which is still to launch in Europe
Electronic Arts has revealed that Harmonix/MTV's Rock Band sold more than 1.5 million copies during the three months to March 31st, 2008.
According to Gamasutra, in its coming year, EA said the company plans to release some 55 games, including 30 for PS3 and Xbox 360, over 20 for the Wii, 18 for the DS, eight for the PSP, 30 for the PC, and 15 for the PS2.
These include new IP Sim Animals, and a 20th anniversary edition of Madden, which will utilize what CEO John Riccitiello called a "holographic interface".
Rock Band will be released in Europe on Friday, May 23rd.

me
i bet a third of them were the cheaper models and/or given away as freebies to shops etc...it simply will not sell much if its really that extortionate!
Re: me
I am still quite bemused by the amount of bile heading at them because of the pricing. Two points to make:
1) You might want to point a few fingers at retail. UK retailers are typically wanting much more margin than US - 40% vs 20%.
2) The exchange rates throw the figures out. Right now its basically £1 = $2. That rate makes it seem a whole lot worse than it actually is. The costs of the periperhals remain the same but the exchange rates could make or break you. What I am saying is that if the ex rate was not so significant, I don't think any where as many people would be moaning
Rock Band Stock
As a Indie retailer how many of this title would people advise stocking?
What have you ordered for your stores?
Re: Rock Band Stock
all depends where your shop is to be honest I helped a friend who has a small shop close to a major university he only bought two units of it and despite being way too expensive for my liking he shifted them as soon as he got them (students love it) now hes regretting only ordering a couple as hes having difficulty getting more stock
