so the sales gap between 360 and ps3 is still in the region of 8 mill units?? Didn't think it was that far apart still.

ps3 sold 9.2 mill 03/07 - 03/08 plus maybe 1.5 mill from USA and Asia when it launched there in 11/06.

MS have already passed 19 mill units, even with the year head start, they are selling comparatively worldwide.

impressive..

WTF?!

Pretty much ALL of the 19 mill units Xbox have are in the US (with about 2 million in the UK)

You couldn't GIVE away an Xbox in Europe (outside of UK & Ireland) and especially in Japan, so their numbers are predominatley US-based!

Wrong. You can add 1 million/500k for each big EU country.

? Why is there such a sudden backlash amongst the UK gamers on this site against the 360? I own all 3 consoles and divide play time pretty equally between the 3.

On MCV's comments recently all I see is 360 is dead in Europe. It really doesn't seem like it to me.

Yes, the PS3 is selling faster at the moment, that is because a majority of people who wanted a 360 have got one, software sales are still leading pretty heavily. The PS3s sales have finally began to take off, but will eventually slow back down as their install base gets closer to the 360's. Yes in the end they will probably sell more overall units, because it is still cheaper than most other blu-ray players and is updatable, if I was going to reccomend any Blu-ray player, PS3 would be it.

But none of that means that (according to #2) "You couldn't give away a 360 in europe", again, yes it isn't selling as well in France, Germany etc, but they aren't exactly large gamings for one, and for two, they are still selling, just not as fast as they already have a larger install base.

This is probably going to fall on deaf ears as the saying goes, but why can't gamers stop sniping at other machines in order to validate their own purchases? All 3 machines in this generation have more than enough fantastic exlcusives making the system worth buying.

Anyone who hasn't had a chance to play Bioshock or Uncharted or Super Mario Galaxy because of their fanboyism is just missing out.
