Format would be 'dismal' without Warcraft and The Sims, says EA boss
Electronic Arts boss John Riccitiello has stuck the knife into the state of PC gaming – but backed the casual sector to strengthen the format.
Riccitiello said that the figures suggesting the PC market was slowing didn’t take into account the success of microstransaction and subscription models.
However, he added that without World Of Warcraft and The Sims, the boxed PC market would be “pretty dismal”.

that the PC market is 'on its knees'. Why should pc gamers upgrade their pc to play The sims?! Sins of a Solar empire showed that there IS a market for hardcore complext PC games - I just wished publishers/developers are seeing that all this casual tat is killing off pc gaming.
Bad ports, lack of creativity and general lazyness from publishers needs to be addressed.
